Bio

Argentine musician awarded in competitions both as a guitarist and for his works. Among its 29 awards, highlight 13 First International Awards in interpretation obtained in Italy, Spain, Uruguay and Argentina stand out, one of them competing against soloists of all instruments. In composition, his Sonata Onírica has won the Second Prize in the contest Claxica (Italy).

Camilo Juan Verga was born on October 29th, 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his studies with Cristina Dueñas in the Music School at the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza and completed the Undergraduate career in 2000. Camilo continued as student of Graciela Pomponio and hi was graduated as Bachelor of Musical Arts (guitar) in 2006 at the National University of Arts (Carlos Lopez Buchardo National Conservatory) of Buenos Aires, under the tutelage of Javier Bravo. He has begun composition studies with Fernando Maglia and currently has started a PhD in Music specialty in Composition at the Universidad Católica Argentina with the doctors Marcelo Toledo and Juan Ortiz de Zárate as thesis directors.

He has received masterclasses with international guitarists such as Angelo Gilardino, David Russell, Thomas Müller-Pering, Aniello Desiderio, Alvaro Pierri, Elena Papandreou, Carlo Marchione, among many others, in Uruguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Serbia and Romania. In 2010, he has received an advanced course at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy, being distinguished by maestro Oscar Ghiglia with the Diploma of Merit and a scholarship.

His discography includes the albums Onírico (2017), in which there are his works for guitar wrote between 2000 and 2014, Molto Legato (2014) with classic, romantic and modern authors and Heitor Villa-Lobos: Integral Guitar Works (2010). Previously, between 2006 and 2007, he has participated in the recording of two albums as result of the awards in competitions and another live produced by the Argentine Guitar Circle. His music was broadcast by Radio Nacional Clásica (Argentina), Emisora del Sur (Uruguay) and Radio Vaticana (Italy), among others.

Since 2008 he teaches classical guitar at the National Conservatory (now called as the Music Department Carlos Lopez Buchardo - UNA) and from 2009 at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Buenos Aires.

He performs regularly in venues and theaters as soloist, participating in the International Guitar Festival Rust (Austria), Salento Guitar Festival (Italy), International Classical Music Festival Villa Navas de San Juan (Spain), Festival Guitarras del Mundo (Argentina), International Festival and Seminar La Roseta del Plata (Argentina), Puntah Classical Guitar Festival (Argentina), International Guitar Festival of Girona (Spain), Cuerdas del Río de la Plata Guitar Festival (Uruguay) and the International Guitar Festival Villa de Aranda (Spain), the latter also being invited to be part of the jury. In 2015 and 2016 was summoned by MIR Production (Serbia) to serve on the jury of Internet Music Competition.
